WORK

To work or not to work... that is the question.

A great way to really experience Queensland, and to keep the hip-pocket full, is on a working holiday.

Recent changes to Australia's Working Holiday Scheme mean that by spending a total of just 3 months doing harvesting work you can get a second one-year visa.
What you need to work

If you want to work in Queensland (or anywhere else in the country) you'll need a Working Holiday Visa from the Australian Immigration Department. Apply online or by lodging an application at a visa office in your country before you depart.

You'll also need a Tax File Number (apply online at www.ato.gov.au or call the Australian Tax Office on +61 2 6216 1111) and a bank account. You can still work without a Tax File Number, but they're free and if you don't have one you'll be taxed at a rate that really hurts!
