If you haven’t been lucky enough to spot Australia’s native animals in the wild than Australia Zoo is pretty close – see koalas, wombats, snakes, echidnas and lizards as well as elephants and tigers.
SUNSHINE COAST Hinterlands
Although the region is named after its stunning coastline there is more to than just beaches. The hinterlands are known as some of the most beautiful in Queensland and bushwalkers will be rewarded with great vistas.
Surfing
Possibly one of the best places to surf in Queensland there are options for experienced and amateur surfers. Head off the beaten track and be rewarded with empty waters and ideal conditions.
Fresh is best
Indulge with fresh food from prawns direct from the Eumundi markets, fish and chips at the beach, cheap meals and great views from surf clubs up the coastline or a picnic after a morning swimming.
