Central Queensland Southern Great Barrier Reef
Central Queensland Southern Great Barrier Reef includes the regions of Capricorn, Gladstone and Bundaberg. Rockhampton is the hub of the Capricorn region and for good reason – it provides a gateway to Great Keppel Island, the Capricorn Coast and caves and the outback. A perfect laid-back way to break up your trip north – plus the area is largely undiscovered by backpackers and after visiting you’ll want to keep it that way. Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 in the Gladstone region is fast becoming a mecca for backpackers and with so many nature based and adventure activities to chose from, it's easy to see why. Bundaberg is well known for seasonal work opportunities in the "salad bowl" of Queensland and of course for the locally produced Bundaberg Rum.
