Backpacking Queensland is Queensland’s statewide backpacker industry body. Together with our members, the association is working hard to grow the backpacker and student market to Queensland. Backpacking Queensland provides lobbying power and representation to all levels of government, and provides information and advice on hot issues from the ACCC pricing laws, Fraser Island compliance, Bunk Bed compliance to the best practices in combating bed bugs and everything in between.

Big benefits for a small contribution
Members are benefiting from over $500,000 worth of contributions to Backpacking Queensland in 2010-2011, both monetary and in-kind; from web design to publicity. Your small membership fee gives you access to all the benefits derived from these contributions.

Local Assistance
Every region of the state has a representative on the board of Backpacking Queensland that members can turn to for advice, as well as raise any issues. While this is a state-wide organization, there is always a local contact close at hand.

Work Queensland – we currently have an ongoing marketing and awareness campaign to drive work enquiries to our key employment contacts and working outlets for our travellers to seek full time or part time work across our great state.


Attendance at trade fairs around the world (including WYSTC, Backpacker Travel Expos Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne, Vakantiebeurs and many others), backpacker festivals, O weeks at Sydney Universities and much more
